What's the difference between UV+ & Standard?

Most of our downspouts are offered in either a UV+ or Standard material. Our UV+ variants are made from a high-grade ASA polymer, while the standard spouts are made from PVC. Refer to the below materials table for an overview of the performance & characteristics of ASA vs. PVC.

What kind of plastic cement works with UV+?

While standard PVC solvent will work with our Standard (PVC) downspout, our UV+ nozzle is made from ASA which has a very similar chemical makeup to ABS. As such, we recommend using any standard all-purpose plastic cement which supports both PVC & ABS for the tightest bond.

How to Install in Under 2 Minutes:

  • Cut pipe to length (note above)
  • Clear the surface of the pipe of any debris (if needed)
  • Apply plastic adhesive / solvent to outer surface of the pipe and inner hub inlet of the nozzle
    • Standard Nozzles (PVC) - Made from PVC; treat as any standard PVC joint
    • UV+ Nozzles (ASA) - Made from ASA (similar to ABS); while any general plastic adhesive is acceptable, recommendΒ ABS-to-PVC transition cement for strongest bond
  • While cement is still wet, slide nozzle onto pipe until fully secured (wait for initial curing before seating the plate)
  • Lock the escutcheon plate onto the nozzle (be sure to align the locking tongue to the track) pushing back until flush with the wall (logo-side down)
